She's been with many of the top outlets across the globe. She was a reporter for The Washington Post nearly a decade covering Grand Slam Tennis and Grand Slam Football as well as basketball at multiple Olympics. Nichols began a nine year time at ESPN which saw her win the two Emmy Awards, and featured in a variety of ESPN's most popular programs, including NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. Reporters were also at the sidelines, she was also a part of Monday Night Football. After she left ESPN, her next stop was CNN as well as Turner Sports. The first program she developed and hosted was self-titled, Unguarded together with Rachel Nichols, and aired weekly on CNN and CNN International. A billion viewers viewed the show worldwide. Nichols reported with TNT in the time period in charge of NBA broadcasts like regular season games, playoffs or teams from the All-Star league. Nichols also worked for TBS covering baseball and golf broadcasts as well as Final Four broadcasts on CBS. This was the second time in its 42-year history that a woman was nominated out of more than 200 nominations.
